I spent almost three hours on the internet searching for the right song to dedicate to you. But I just couldn’t seem to find one that can perfectly capture what I really feel and what I want to tell you, so I decided to write a letter for you instead.

Dear My Ex,
We had so much fun, didn’t we? All the memories that we had will forever live in my heart: singing our hearts out in the car, laughing too much our eyes disappear, making fun of each other, tickling you, teasing you and even annoying you. You will always have a special place in my heart even though in the future we drift apart, and you no longer remember that I was once part of your life.
You made me feel the feelings that I’ve been dreaming about. You held me like no one had ever before. You looked at me the way I’ve always wanted to be looked at. You made me happy, and I thank you for that.
I know, I was the one to let go first, but I hope you know that it hurts me so much too. It hurts to know that we’re not the best for each other. It hurts to realize that you are not what I was looking for anymore. I’m sorry I gave up. I’m sorry I couldn’t find it in my heart to try and trust again. Maybe I still need to heal. Maybe we both do.
I hate to let you go but I know this is the right thing to do. We’re just going to keep on hurting each other if we force it and I don’t want us to end up just hating each other.
You are such a kind person and I know you have so much potential in you. You have the capacity to grow and improve for the better. I wanted to be there to hold and guide you each step of the way of finding your truth, but I know I have to look out for myself too. I know that it’s a journey that you have to go through by yourself.
I hope you know that even though I am not there beside you, I am always rooting for you in your process of figuring out the best version of yourself. I’ll be the happiest when that day comes that you find and accept your truth. I know you can do it. I believe in you.
Just please promise me, to remember me as the person who believes in you and will always want the best for you.
